Don't believe it until you see it. The same rumor has been around for several years.

I heard it's going to be a 1730 square four, with two 865s cobbled together.

That is correct, but in addition, and this may surprise a few.
It is going to be a Two Stroke, with four Micron power chamber pipes on it.

Absolutely true. It will be assembled in Rangoon, Burma from parts manufactured in Kuwait. It will be a Sq. 4, water cooled, 2 stroke turbo, diesel designed specificaly to run on bio fuel and have shaft drive. They are expected to arrive in show rooms in early Dec. as an '08 model. Color options will be magenta, mauve, and toupe, saddles will be upholstered in tweed and herring bone. All will be Paul Smart designed and each tank will be personally signed. Now, who will trade up for one of those babies?

Chop, don't take it personally. Everyone is just funnin with ya. That question has been asked a few times and the bigger twin has been rumored since the first BA's rolled off the line. Personally I believe Triumph will a build cruiser style in the 1200-1600 range soon. they would be foolish not to.IMO

Well it’s like this it will be out towards the end of the year, a friend of mine has already placed there order with the dealer who has confirmed the fact. What we can gather is it will be half of the Rocket motor so that was a bit of a disappointment for me as I would have liked to have seen a bigger twin like we have now.
So there we go that about the size of it.

I've been hearing those rumors for awhile now too....but remember all the nay-sayers that discounted the old rumors about "a VERY large displacement cruiser" back in 2003/2004....???? My dealer says they are actually testing a 1500cc bike here in the states and that it will go into production for '09. Problem is....they will most likely build this new cruiser at their newly finished plant in Southeast Asia, which means that while the badge may say "Triumph", it will be assembled using cheap (exploited) Labor. Good or bad, thats what keeps the prices down, and I'm sure they figure that they will sell far more units at say, $12,000 than they would at $20,000, like what most Harleys cost. On a typical Roadking (Harley), your paying for an $8,500 motorcycle, and $11,500 worth of salaries, pensions, health insurance, etc. etc....

Dealer said he expects a 1500 cc or so sized cruiser for 08.

"British Built" Does that mean it will not be made in Thailand? hmmm. The myths are true! I am likely going to add to my stable in the next year. Do you think it will be a softtail? The article says it will have a bigger rear end but said nothing about the suspension hmmmm...Start saving.

Oh ye of little faith. This is exactly how the R-3 began. First some spy pictures and rumors then a few more then voila... she was here. Allthough it took about 5 years to develop the 3. It's hard not to believe the 1500 is in the works now. Just a matter of when it will be introduced.

Because I've got one already. Triumph made me promise not to wash the new 1530cc cruiser so it would look blurry, and no one could tell what it is. It pulls hard, surprizingly smooth and outruns everything in its class.
