Nope, not on the bike, but the car. Happened on my way to Seattle at Washington mile post 102 on I-5. If it wasn't for the rain, It would have waited a bit longer.

I have 185,000 miles on an 01 Honda Civic. Before I purchased the 01 Civic new my 93 Civic had 230,000. Gotta love Mr. Honda. I must admit that I faithfully change the oil and have the timing belt and water pump changed at 100,000 miles. Both vechiles have been extremely reliable and a pleasure to own. I will have to make this decision by the end of the year weather to replace the water pump and timing belt or go with a new one. I have been eyeing a 07 Civic gray coupe that calling my name. My wife's van is a 2000 Toyota Sennia with about 125,000 miles. What type of car is it Soren?

hmmmm... I would Guess a Cummins but because you said "car" I could not guess. I have an 04 Grand Prix with 90,000 and I haven't done so much as regular maitenance, i.e. oil change, tranny tlush, tires and coolant flush. So who knows it could be anything if you take care of it.

Have 99,500 miles on my Landrover, which is going to clock the 100k on its journey to Ireland later this year. Do you have the tradition in the US of pushing the car the last 10th of a mile, for luck?

I had 250,000 on my Chev Astro van and the thing still ran like it was brand new when I traded it in for a new astro van. My current Astro van is pushing 180k with no major problems (where is the wood I need to knock on!). I am hoping for 5 more years out of it and than no more vans!

I have a customer coming in Thursday with over 330,000 milwes on his '99 Lexus RX300.
I have done 3 timing belts on this one already, and he says it still runs like it did with only 50k miles on it.

I have owned 8 Jeep Cherokees over the past few years, and still own 3 of them now. I had 240,000 miles on my 1987, then sold it to my cousin who drove it to work daily for 2 more years. I currently have one with 133,000 mi., one with 182,000 and one with 201,000. Love those Jeeps with the 4.0/ 6 cyl.

I run a towing co and have well over 1,000,000 on my 1980 chevy C-30 wrecker I admit I have had 3 engines 2 transmissions and 2 rears in it in that time!! LOL But the way I see it as hard as that truck gets used thats not bad. I also do all regular mait. on it. Oil changes , tune ups etc..

Ian,
When I worked for the UAW (GM) I remember they use to do something for any owner of a GM vehicle that had over 1,000,000 miles.
I forget what they use to give you, maybe a T-shirt, but thats impressive 1,000,000 in the N\E ussaly it has rotted away by then.

Those Chevy 4.3L engines were indestructible. We put 237,000 very hard miles on one in an Astro van.

My '03 Honda Accord hit 200,000 miles two weeks ago. Got to remember to stop by the dealer and say "thanks", if I can just remember where they were located....Yeah, it's been a good car. Hoping to get another 100k out of it.
Put 250k on Nissan NX2000 before this one.

The GM 4.3 was just a small block with 2 cylandars cut off...literally. They take the same water pump and everything.

I know the feeling dude. I had a 1980 Ford truck that hit 287,000 miles in 10 years, when the rear seal went out. I sold it in 1990 for $800 and will never own another Ford. Sorry POC.

I agree, the 4.3L is a great motor, 3/4'S OF A 350 small block. I've got 1 in my '98 Chevy S-10(40K), and 1 in my '99 fish'n boat. I had a '89 S-10 Blazer, that developed an electrical prob @ 140k, that I couldn't figure out. The dealer still gave me $1,000 on the trade-in for the p/u. It still ran great.

I've always thought the Raymond Loewy designed mid-fifty Studebakers with their classic understated lines are some of the best styled cars of all time, Dog! My parents "second car" back in the early to mid '60s(which meant it was my mother's car...Pop drove the Caddy, of course ) was a used '54 Studie Commander. And Mr. Loewy's penning of the original Avanti wasn't too bad a design either, ya know.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

100,000 is good if they are trouble free miles. Consumer Reports surveys(1,000,000 surveys sent out) showed that Toyota and Honda are the most reliable.....Angelis

He!! I've only ever owned 1 car that had less than 100,000 miles when I bought it and thats the one I own now. 43,000 when bought. I also love those 4.0 jeeps, they run forever.
I've become comfortably numb
