This is old news Triumph was started by German guys. I figured with all the talk about herritage and history aroud here, it was common knowledge.

Triumph also manufactured bikes in Germany up to the advent of WWII in Nurnberg. After WWII, the bikes were known as TWN, for "Triumph Works Nurnberg"

I have a 53 TWN BDG 250S that I'm going to restore. Here's a pic of the exact bike fully restored.

Awesome bike Sightglass, is that some kind of a hand hold on the rear seat?

Good luck with the resto Sightglass. Hope you can keep a blog or something of your build. I'd be interested in following along as you restore. TWN made some good looking bikes. Check out this Triumph Boss.

The one sitting in the garage doesn't look quite as nice It's all a money thing if I want to do it right.

Ya, it's a grab handel for the passanger. I've been told that the're not allowed in some countries. People have been hurt in minor crashes, more so men smackin their jewls on them.

WOW!! Only 4500? I'm surprised it's still available unless of course the knife doesn't come with it, then it's just not worth it.

Never thought of a blog on the restore, I may have to do that. If I ever get moving. I have about three more years before I realisticly can do it.

I did a lot of research on the bikes for a part supply. The good thing is, it uses a some common parts with BMW of the same era. I had everything lined up, and the money flow changed , so I've lost contacts I had made helping me to track down stuff. I'll have to start from scratch again, but that's fun too. Also, if the bike is black from the factory, it was for export, if it was the bergundy as in the pic, it was for domestic sales.
