Well ... I had heard horror stories of the open house event at other dealers on this forum and a couple others. My local dealer invited me and Ezcue to their open house. I went not expecting much. When we got there around 11 AM they had loads of food, drinks, and bikes. The store was filled wall to wall with Triumphs. They are also a Big Dog dealer ... there were six Big Dogs and about 15 or so Triumphs in the showroom. Every model had at least one representative and several had two. For demo bikes they had a Daytona, a Speed Triple, and a Rocket. I had no interest in killing myself so I elected to test ride the Rocket. Now keep in mind that my Bonnie was tuned by Matt at South Bay by the previous owner is considered to be fairly strong. I have never been on a motorcycle where it felt like the throttle was directly connected to the world around me ... you twist and the world immediately goes by faster. It also felt very light for a 700 lbs bike. I think I may forgo the purchase of an America as you CANNOT get one from England any longer (Triumph rep Harlin King informed us of this fact). I may very well be looking into that nice blue and white Rocket in the near future. It just felt that good.

Kudos to Jerry and his team at Deep South Cycles for putting on a good event. Lots of bikes ... lots of folks in and out ... lots of jaw jacking about nothing.

I bought my '06 America from Deep South last May and now have 4,300 miles on her. Jerry was great to work with and he is a bank of information on Triumphs. I would have been there myself last Saturday, but I was in Daytona for the big dance! What an event, it is highly recommended. I did get to ride the Tiger, it is awesome, but I am more of the Cruiser style. I'm keeping the TBA!
