there is a guy over in australia who just made a custom set of cams for the rocket with very good results. he knows his stuff. i mentioned to him about the twins and said that he would need to have one for awhile to do it, may be a bit pricey but he backs up his results and is VERY honest. if there were anyone who is very serious about cams and is in austrialia he would be the go to guy. to bad hes not in the US as i bet there would be a few willing to part with there bikes for this

Seeing as how there's really no cams for sale that back up their claims with specs and dyno runs, I'd think there's a lot of interest. I'd pay $800 US without thinking twice, if they backed up the claims with dyno runs (3rd party) and specs on the grind.

Where in Oz is this guy? There are a few of us scattered across this big brown land, and I am sure that someone would be interested.

Can you send some details, as that is only a 45 min ride from Adelaide. I can contact him next week when I get home.

Ok, I contacted the bloke about cams, and yes he has done some for the R3. He was very open in his thoughts, and at the end of our conversation, here is where we are. He claims without having a high compression engine (904 Big Bore) the results that he would come up with would be less than impressive, his comment was the bonnie engines are very under done. He also stated that it would cost about $A5000 to come up with the first cams, and unless there were definite buyers it would not be worth while. He is a one man operation and does not have the financial backing to do this without confirmed buyers. I am not willing to spend $5000 to see if it works so at this stage I would suggest that the companies such as megacycle, and British Customs, who do make cams would be the best bet. And going on his thoughts, cams without having increased the compression on the engine would be less than inspiring.
Cheers,
Cruser
