I was over at this warehouse near where I live looking for a new tail light for the new bobbed fender and a seat for the bike. I noticed like 2-3 old triumphs in bobber form and 2-3 in stock form. I asked if I could go upstairs and look at the seats with the one guy and mentioned that I really liked the Trumpets downstairs and he said " I got something to show you up here" and proceded to the 3rd floor. Once up there he turned the lights on & low and behold there sat 15-20 triumphs from the mid 60's to the early 70's in many different states of repair. There was a Triton sitting along side the coolest little yellow bobber that I would kill for. The sales guy told me that none of them were for sale and the owner has had many offers for the whole lot from quite a few people from across the pond and he won't sell a one.

It's a shame to have them just sitting there, on the other hand it's a real gift to posterity.

I think I left a gallon of drool on the floor once he turned the lights on.

Some day you should go to Baxter Cycle in Marne, Iowa. He has scores of old Triumphs, Nortons, BSAs and others and they are all for sale. I drop by there a few times a year and drool every time.

I'll second the Baxter Cycle suggestion. They used to do a video every year and sell it for $20 or so and if you bought a bike that was on the video they would knock off the $20. They went through the entire store, shop, and warehouse. It was really cool to see all of the bikes. I bought my 70 Bonnie from him and had it shipped. I'll make the trip there in person some day.

Hey Dan. When you go back to Baxter's, can I go with you?

Shawn, definitely go back with a camera! Sounds like an awesome place. I think that of I had all those bikes I would probably want to hang onto them too.
