Oh my gosh! What an awesome few days! Ryan and Jennifer opened their home to a bunch of rag tag bikers and really made us feel welcome. I arrived Wednesday and after a great home cooked meal, Ryan and I opted to watch Talladaga Nights. I needed to relax and Ryan had never seen the film. Thursday, Ryan and Jennifer had to work, so I headed over to meet up with Wojo ( John). I got to meet his good friends, Gay, Gene and Warren, what a great group of guys! We headed out after a cold beverage and meet up with some more good folks and headed out to a lighthouse styled restaurant for lunch and some great conversation.
Later, Uncle Phil arrived. so Phil, Ryan. John and I headed to Merritt Island, home of Moe and Lynn. Moe cooked up an absolutely delious dinner of cornish hen, mushrooms, rice, garlic bread and of course some really good wine. We talked and caught up most of the night and then in fine BA fashion, Moe and Lynn put us all up for the night. We even got to see the shuttle launch from Moe's yard( he leaves real close to Cape Canaveral ).
Friday, we went with David, Ryan's neighbor, around town to Corbin and all over via backroads so we stayed out of traffic. That night we had pizza and more beverages by the pool listening to some great music and just enjoying the night.
Saturday, Phil and I went and meet up with John and they took me to main street for the festivities.... you gotta do it once and now i have.... we even got Jennifer the proverbial T-shirt. Ryan and Jennifer, bless their hearts, stayed home and created a feast fit for a king. Alot of people joined us( please allow I will forget some names). Greg (English Yank) showed up after just coming in from Maine and England before that, Bill Gately of Bonneville Performance, showed up, Panman and his wife Graham were there, Tom Vance and his friends, Matt and Christi, Jennifer's friend Patty from work, David and his wife as well. Ryan grilled up a delicious Boston butt and flank steak. Christi made some awesome wings some that were really, really hot!!!! There was food and beverage everywhere. You know the beauty of these events and rallies, the people are awesome!!!!! I have never met a person I didn't like or couldn't have alot in common with. People open their homes and hearts to people they hardly know, feed you, put you up for the night, make you breakfast in the morning and treat you like you were family!!!! Phil, John, Greg and I spent the night with Ryan and then in the morning I left around 8:30 and got home around 3:30 and immediately crawled into bed for a nap!!!!
So thank you to everyone especially Ryan and Jennifer( their kids, Nicholas and Elizabeth) and Moe and Lynn for opening their homes and being great friends.... I can't say enough about them!!!! To Phil, John and Greg for hanging out and making my trip special and the whole cast of characters that filled in the blanks..... I will write more when I have more time and as my memory demands it.... ride safe...Gordon

In a word, it was "OUTSTANDING" being with y'all. Can't wait for our next adventure.

My new, Gordon Lynch signature, tank badge also looks "outstanding".

Greg should be home right around now....or in a couple more hours.

Hi all it's me, Ryan's wife, now that we are all buddies and pals I thought I'd join in. I just want to let everyone know that The Meyer family had a blast this weekend!. Elizbeth has several new boyfriends - it's amazing how a four year old can bat her long eye lashes and get you guys to do anything...and as long as Nicklaus was the center of attention and being held by someone he was happy. Thanks to all for entertaining my children.

You guys are welcomed at our house anytime!!!!

My my my. Welcome officially, to the site Jennifer! I'll have to wait like the rest of us for the pictures, but I did manage to take a few between brews, pulled pork, flank steak, cheesecake squares, tomato pie, baked beans, grilled shrooms, spinach dip, wings, fruit salad, champagne, whiskey, fudge cookies, sausage, eggs, pastries, coffee, tea, biscuits, cheese... hehehe.

Wow. What a great meet-n-greet/party/bbq. Seems like just yesterday Lynn and I were leaving the great land of Port Orange. Thankyou for the party and for the standing invite. Elizabeth and Nicklaus are both dear children. And Ryan is, well, very ! But you?! Dah’ling, you are marvelous.

If ever a photograph captured generational comradery...

Elizabeth will love the Picture!!!! She thought it was really cool with all the bikes...and her first ride with Daddy was lots of fun. She's hooked. Next year Ryan will be busy taking turns with Nicklaus and Elizabeth.

Jennifer, yeah what Phil said. Cause noone would hang out with bikers, live in Daytona, have a Bike week T-shirt and not ride...... unless, .....oh my gosh, you might be a Harley rider..... did I see a trailer hidden in the back yard . Seriously, we would love to have you out there with us... but we will always respect your decision, 'cause your one of us either way!!!!...... thanks again, Gordon

I'll be more than happy to hang out, drink lots, and wear the biker t-shirts and leave the riding to the pros!

And it's true - the camera was left at our house - it's in the mail...Famous last words!

Did you see the picture of you wearing the Daytona Bike Week 2007 "hear no, see no speak no evil" T shirt and holding a brewski? Click on the picture and scroll down. Yes, that is Ryan standing behind and to the side of you holding a cigar! Wish I snapped more pics and used a better exposure.

Yes - a picture of the pork before you cooked it and one of all the bikes in the garage with Elizabeth's bike. Yeah - that's about it.

Ryan & Jennifer I would also like to thank you for opening your house to all of us. The food was great and your hospitality was overwhelming. It was great seeing familiar faces and making new friends. Jeff (Joes Garage) and Mike also had a great time and wish to thank you as well.

The next time anyone is down visiting with Moe and Lynn, give me a call, I only live about 8 miles away. If you want to hang out and see the beach you are more than welcome.

Tom

OK Shari, you asked for it! Here's some pics:

Ryan and moe (Jim) working dinner. This is Jim's new kitchen. Beautiful!!! We all spent the night there. A GREAT night!

Ryan contemplated trading in his BA!

This is just too cute (not you Ryan!)

Check this out!! We got it running!!! (It's been sitting)

Gordon showing a little too much enthusiasm for this Nightster. Note wojo's look!

Well, maybe not (I think wojo shamed Gordon into relenting!!)

For those of you who were near, THIS is what you missed.

Bill Gately (Bonneville Performance)'s ride. What beautiful bike!!

Another shot of Bill's bike

Another. This bike will kick some serious arse! Note the two into one exhaust.
