I believe a quite a few of you have replaced the stock fork springs with Progressives. I looked at 'MAW online' and found a ton of them. Does this sound like the right set?

Would this be the same for an 06 Speedmaster? What does +1 mean? Up the fork oil? Is that some sort of cursing?

One of the most effective mods I have done, and for not that much money, either.
I waited until it was time to change the fork oil (20k?)(whatever the book says). I can not think of any reasons NOT to change the springs when you change the oil.
Much more stable ride.

Make sure you buy the right length. There's one to shorten the height(of the bikle) and one to keep the stock height.....Angelis

Not sure about lowering it, but the part number listed at the beginning of the post was what I bought from MAW. The springs make a very noticeable difference in handling. Much better, tighter, corners better, less brake dive, etc. I changed my oil to a 50/50 mix of 10w and 15w and have had awesome results.
Not you fat Jesus!

The Tech Vault is your friend.
Fork Lowering Kit: 10-1564
It's worth taking some time and going through the entire Tech Vault forum to see what's in there. It can often save you some time when searching for answers.

Hey, I don't mind helping out the noobs by answering some of the same questions over and over, but at some point they do need to become more self reliant. It's what the Tech Vault forum is all about.

But think of all those fringe benefits you're getting for being a mod....key to the executive washroom, the timeshare condo in Hawaii, nubile groupies fawnin' all over you. And dare I say it? A GREEN NAME!

I think MAW was mentioned a few times. They usually have the best prices by far for most anything.

I was planning on doing the springs when you were helping me run the wires through the bars. Figure the bars have to come off at that point.
If the speedy is down I can ride Cathy's bike, granted it looks really funny.
And they are ordered. Thanks for the quick reply.

I think you need the spacers, if you are talking about the solid piece. To lower them you use the bottoming springs- one for 1" and 2springs for 2".
2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

Yup according to the footnote on the instructions see #8. #8 said to reuse the stock spacers, installation took less than 4 minutes. Thats my kind of mod, granted the bars were already off. Once summer/spring whatever gets here I will give a report on how they feel.
