Has anyone been to a Triumph dealer this week, if so what your impression of the Triumph Open House ? Is it worth a special trip (120 miles) to check out ?

I'll find out on Saturday when I go to a Triumph open house in Phoenix. They're supposed to have a poker run and vintage bike show. I'll probably skip the poker run, and just show up for the bike show and to browse the 2007 models.

I'm going to my dealer in a few minutes. I just want to see the new models. I doubt if there will be any poker runs in the snow.

Kenny, who's your dealer? I got the impression there won't be that much going on at my dealer. We'll see...

Hi Kevin, my dealer is Freehold Honda/Triumph I don't think anything big will be going on today. Maybe there will be on Sat. I'll find out.

Well the weather promses to be good. Went to Phoenix last Friday/Saturday and got beaten to death by wind on the slab going up and coming back.

Kenny, I'm going to Trebour on Saturday. Too bad the weather's not right for demo rides yet.

Should be around 85 or so in Phoenix on Saturday. Had a good ride yesterday. Went out Old Spanish Trail to Vail, then over to Sonoita and back. Stopped by the American Legion Post I belong to out in Corona de Tucson. The new building is coming along....they just paved the parking lot.
Saw a flier up for a poker run that benefits disabled vets wheelchair olympics on March 18th. Optional starting points at either Post #36 on 22nd street near Craycroft, or Post #66 in Green Valley...which is where it also ends. I went last year and it's a good run for a great cause.

I assume you're referring to Destination Daytona (or whatever the Triumph section calls themselves). The Jax dealer doesn't seem like they'll be doing anything to impress, so I was thinking of taking a ride South. Enough of sticking my face against the window - this time I'm going while they're open. Hey, maybe buy a condo upstairs (the wife actually asked if we could).

demo rides in baltimore on 3/23 and 3/24. "bike week for the rest of us" promises to be a bore in baltimore. one of my (many) favorite stories about "my dealer" was when they were having a huge sale the friday and saturday coinciding with the delmarva bike weekend. i asked why they would schedule their biggest sale of the year the same weekend 100 thousand motorcyclists will be 175 miles away and they said they had never heard of the event. i then said i'd really like to buy this rain suit, but i'm leaving town thursday, can i get the discount? the answer, uh, no. i asked to speak with a manager and was told there was none available. these are the same asshats that wanted me to wait a week for them to mount a tire because they don't stock $1.50 rim strips. can you tell i'm less then enthused about "my dealer"?

Kevin, just got back from Freehold just as I thought nothing going on today. On Sat. they will have free food and drink and some giveaways, and rides. The Triumph truck will be there in April. They got a shipment of 5 Americas three weeks ago and only have 1 left. Where exactly is Trebour triumph?

I think so, but I'm constantly aware that she's subject to a relapse. She bought a scooter last month so she's got the bug again. AND we've agreed to stay away from Main Street - if possible. We're also heading down on Friday morning to hopefully avoid too many "weekenders".
I remember 30 years ago, when it was; "Look what I built over the Winter" bikes, the Broadwalk, the Rat's Hole show, then off to Boot Hill Saloon for refreshments. Then came the; "Look what I can afford to bolt onto my Harley (that I trailered down and might take off the trailer if the weather's nice)", "Look at me while I rev my straight-piped motor while I duckwalk my bike up and down Main St." and "Show me your ____!" phase.
I liked the early days better!

Kenny, I'll try to get down there for the demo rides next month.
Trebour is in Ledgewood in Morris County on Route 46, just off Route 80. Good guys.
