Does anyone else wonder why there are not a hell of a lot more rides listed under this section of this web site?

I also have a BMW and there are just ton's of get togeathers all over the world. I only seem to see the same few(very few) listed year after year on this site. Do you guys ever meet anywwhere as a group?

Every chance they get they. They just finished in the northeast and are planing Georgia as Dwight is working out an Arizona get together. Many will meet up in Daytona next week.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Let's see... Idaho, Georgia, New York, Arizona, U.K, several places in Europe... so, I guess so. Just not everyone at one time in one place. You are definitley more than welcome to join us.

If you want to schedule a ride (long, short whatever), feel free to post it.

Soren

The vast majority of our members seem to be clustered on the east coast and the south. Gatherings tend to be regional in nature. Out there in Cal you're stuck with Dwight, and that can't be fun.

I've always been surprised that there isn't more of a Socal contingent on this board. You'd think with a large population like you have out there, more members would show up from that part of the country.

This board is pretty model specific from a not very popular brand which limits the membership rolls. If you want larger groups spread across more Triumph models, there's the Triumphrat.net board. But really I don't have much interest in hanging with the Daytona 675 owners, even though I think it's a great bike. We just don't have much in common with those kind of bikes.

It's not like BMWs where there isn't much difference between all their models, with one or 2 exceptions. I do see a seperation with the GS models compared to their road bikes.

FriarJohn,

I have a Speedmaster and another buddy here in GF that has a Triumph adventurer. Let me know if you want to get together for a ride... That is if we ever get any decent weather.

Besides the Bonnevilleamerica.com sping and fall meets, in Maryland we get together throughout the spring through the fall for all kinds of food & beer runs, rides over to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia to the ocean beaches in Maryland & Virginia.

All it takes is just a simple post away…….

As you already know there are the few bigger US meets.

We have quite a few meets in the UK (both organised rallies and casual get togethers / ride outs).

I suppose the main problem is there are those that do and those are happy for others to do ... by that I mean of the couple of thousand members on here, there are only a few that organise the meets and it takes some organising / cost.
Ok, people put their hands in their pockets for the shirts and patches but there are other costs behind it.

As long as some are prepared to occassionaly turn because others go out of their way to organise stuff, there will be few meets.
When more people bother to organise things, there will be more meets which isn't pressure on the same few .......

Excellent. We'll definitely go for a ride, if this snow will ever go away. I generally make it to Griffals a couple times a month.

Why Friar Dude! Maybe you didn't know this, but one of my middle names IS "Fun", the other of course being "Trouble". And ya know, one can have an enormous amount of fun, just getting in trouble.

(...and we plan on havin' a lot o' BOTH at the Prescott AZ ride come this May!!!)

Cheers,
Dwight

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

So "Fun Trouble" is your middle name? That just sounds wrong.
