After installing all new shims for my intake valves, I took a nice ride last Friday and it has been snowing ever since. Dang!!!! BTW, my valve adjustment did not go well. I bought a new torque wrench to tighten the cap bolts. It was a cheap one (only $50). Anyway I busted on of the bolts with it and had to remove them all and found that all had been stressed. I took the wrench back and bought a good one from Sears for $100 on sale. I had to wait two weeks for new bolts along with the oil tube copper washers and "O" ring. Anyway she sure sounds a whole lot better now.

We had Spring in Texas one day last week and are now proceeding quickly into summer. It was 85 yesterday-that's not bragging-it's wondering what the summer is going to be like if it is this hot this early. Time to get out the Cool ****** (that is a brand name) seat cover you put on the seat when you park it. Otherwise you end up standing up riding on the pegs untill the wind cools the leather down.

Remember in Dec. and the first part of Jan. the networks ran out every global warming activist they could find. To hawk pending doom and gloom.

Then the polar vortex kicked in and we have had 9 weeks of below normal temps. Now they are as rare as chicken teeth.

Go figure !!!

The latest poll shows that 70% of Americans believe in global warming. In 1450 90% of Europe's population belived that Earth was not only flat, but the center of the Universe. Just polls to show ya.

Has it even been 9 weels since early Jan? Ummmm no. It's still warm for winter down here... Sure it got below freezing a few times, but I haven't seen a below zero day yet.

"Normal" temps for Southern New England rarely drop below zero. Todays high in Hartford was 41 that is considered
"normal" for this time of year.

It has been a colder than "Normal" Febuary.

Well is it below average normal, or below what was normal for that day in the past? A lot of people love to say "today it was X degrees out which is below normal". Know what I mean?

Benny,

See what I mean, look at Jack's tag line.

Past: Unload your guns and explode into space

Now: New car, caviar, movie stars and now he wants to buy a football team.

You have to move to CT. and become a CT. millionaire.

Come on out to the Midwest. We had about ten days with highs in the -2 to +5 range earlier this month. ^@%* Groundhog!

Popularity polls do not make good science. How about the guys who thought ulcers were a bacterial thing, were laughed at as crackpots and the vast majority said they had no clue, then in 2005 they win the Nobel Prize as their work was proven good science and groundbreaking and correct.

Go back 100 years ago and the popular thing was eugenics. Scientific “consensus” supported it. Everyone KNEW it was right. Lots of legislation was based on it. Now it’s known as a crackpot theory. I recently received a 1971 copy of Paul Ehrlich’s book “Population Bomb.” Not a single prediction has come true. But it was the book my high school biology teacher required us to read in 1971 so we would see the “Truth” of what was to come. Based on the track record of the alarmists out there I’d bet 30 years from now the global warming crowd will be hiding their past predictions and trying to scare us with something totally different. Whatever happened to the “ozone hole” and “acid rain?” Conveniently dropped down the memory hole now that they turned out not to be true!

I was going to brings these up before. The "Population Bomb"
in particular.I do recall one of my leftist school teachers.
Back in the early 70's telling us that by 2000 we would be standing shoulder to shoulder eating "Soylent Green".

But it can be argued that this was averted, by the trend towards smaller families in the following 3 decades.
I know the average family once had 5 or 6 kids. But now it's down to 2. I myself have only fathered 2 vile offspring. Whereas my grand Father sired 6. My Father 3.

Makes sense. My mom is one of 7 kids, but I only have one sister, and the most kids any of her siblings have is 3.
