In the next couple of weeks I plan on ordering replcements Metzeler tires for my 03 America. I am thinking about ordering the ME880 110/90-18 for the front as opposed to the Metzeler lazertec 110/18-18. Does going with the slightly bigger tire make a difference in the handling of the bike. I know that the difference in size is fairly small but was wondering what changes to expect with the slighly larger front tire.

I've been running a Metzeler 880 110/90-18 for about 30,000 miles now. The added sidewall heighth does make the front end feel lighter, but there's a way to overcome that. I've raised my fork tubes 1/2 inch above the top triple tree. Just that half inch really makes a difference to me and the way I ride. There was a time when I put the forks back in the stock position, and rode for awhile like that, but after raising them again recently and riding on my favorite backroad, they're going to stay raised from now on.

I went from Bridgestones to ME880 110/90-18 for the front and the handling was greatly improved.Duh As a bonus it put my speedo dead on, according to two road side radars, one at 26mph and the other at 53mph. I like um.

I've become comfortably numb
