I just got a price from my main dealer for a replacement CDI. For those of you that have gotten one does $561.14 sound about right?

Hi Jack Sounds about right here in the UK they are £300 + 17.5%VAT. What you paid in dollars equates to £280.00. So not a great deal in difference considering they ship it out to the USA. Rip off Britain again
Was your up the duff or have you bought a spare?

Ray I am looking at replacing mine. I have been having problems for some time now and none of the other fixes have done it. Two days ago coming home it was the worst. It died on me 5 times in about 10 minutes. I have been able to get it started again by shutting off the key for about 2 seconds then back on while coasting in gear down the road. This last one really worried me about getting stranded. There is no cell service around here so can't call someone. I would have to leave the bike along the roadway, and that is not going to happen.... may not be there when I came back

I finally got help from my dealer. My bike is still on warranty and I believe my recurring problems are caused by the igniter. The dealer is 40 miles away, but over the phone the service mgr. (also owner) realized I had been through most of the troubleshooting steps. Because my right cylinder goes out most of the time, he wanted me to swap the coils to totally eliminate the coil. I did that yesterday and hope to make the problem come back. If I get the same results he'll send me a new igniter and return mine for credit. If the problem moves to the left cylinder, he'll send me a new coil. I'm very much relieved in that I can get the problem fixed on warranty AND I probally won't have to take the bike to them.
Now I have to get out and do some serious riding so I can get this overwith.
