I also have sent the picture to my sister that lives in the area. She also teaches at USC and will circulate the photo there. I hope it will help and wish all of you the best in finding her. Hang tough and keep the hope alive

I also chose this path when I was 15. Call everyone police, runaway hot line , Her friends!!!!!!!!!! someone knows the "ride" she took. My prayers are with your family!

Soren: May name is Ron Simmer. I am Dave Simmer's younger brother. He forwarded me your forum and picture of your missing step daughter. I live in Southern California, in Marina del Rey area. Many run aways head towards Hollywood, and Los Angeles. My wife Candace and I do a great deal of volunteer work through AA at local missions and homeless shelters. What I thought I'd do with your permission is post her picture here, along with maybe posting something on local missing kids blotter. Like you said could be a long shot but anything is worth trying in my opinion.

I have a daughter 21 and a step daughter 21. Both went through some difficult times at around the 16 age area. Our prayers are with you, and trust in God to protect her.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!!

We do have a police report files and she is listed as an endangered runaway. The police have said that she took off with a couple of people that she met on MySpace and offered her a modeling job and apartment (yea, right). They said that they were going to pick her up at 2:00 am in a rented car. We are supposed to find out more tomorrow.

Dave, I got the email from your brother and emailed him back.

One thing I didn't metion before is that she took her cat. Maybe that will separate her form a lot of other kids out on the streets.

now to talk about myspace!!!!this is not something new that happen's on myspace i won't go into the number but many young girl's get taking at that site.. i really wish there was something we could do about it.. now as parent of a young girl of 16 myself...

The problem isnt really MySpace itself, but all the preditors that exist in our world. People that purposely seek out other people to intentionally destroy them and use them for their own selfish gain without thinking or caring about the potential consequenses of that person, their families or future realtionships.

I've been silently keeping an eye on this thread, but really haven't been able to come up with any thing that I thought might give you comfort. I worked for 5 years at the Tulsa County Juvenille Detention Center as a Detention counselor in the secured section, and later as an Intake counselor and dealt with many kids who had left home. In my time there I never had any real bad sitautions where the kids got serioulsy hurt or worse. Most either returned home or went to a teen residential facility. All I can say is that when she is tired enough and realizes what she had at "home" as far as support and love, then she will return to you and her mom. But this will happen only when she decides to and not someone else, or she might run a way again. The only thing a parent can do is continue to love and support their child no matter what they decide to put themselves through. I found that many parents threw their money at their kids but did not give them their time. I'm just as guilty. I found that when my son was growing up it might be easier to watch sports or somethng stupid on TV then to go outside a play one on one BB with him. Try not to judge her too harshly when she comes home (a lot easier said then done). My prayers are with you and her mother. I think there are a lot of people here pulling for you and your family, hopefully there is a small piece of comfort in that. If there is anything I can do just PM me.

Stay positive, this will all work out. It just takes time. I know that with the advent of the internet, I'm used to everything working itself out within minutes.
I'm thinking of you, and your family, hope all works and I hope we're helping a little.

I pray that it's "pretty much over" soon then. Or at least a little more resolved for you and her Mom. I'm sure until she is back home it won't really be over, if even then but know you have the thoughts and prayers of this family.
