Sprocket Changing Instructions
Remove the Chain and the sprocket
Pry the locking washer down with a big flathead screwdriver. Then use something round and flat, with a small hammer, to get it flatter and out of the way more, do not score it all up with the screwdriver.
With the chain all slack, it should easily come off the front sprocket and lay to the side of the sprocket. If it does not come off easily, loosen the chain tension adjusters some more.
Now take a block of wood, I used nice hard oak, and wedge it so that the teeth of the sprocket will not turn. It also helps to have the bike in 1st gear at this point. Put your 1 7/16" socket on the big nut and loosen it up, once it breaks loose it should spin right off easily.
On to the next step.
