Sprocket Changing Instructions
Replace the Sprocket
Now simply pull the sprocket and the retaining washer off. You will re-use the big washer so do not discard this part. Also note the shape of the large sprocket nut and how it came off, it will have to go back on the same way.
Place the new sprocket back on the slotted shaft and replace the locking washer and the large nut, be careful that the nut is replaced correctly. The side with a rim in it goes on the inside so the slots on the shaft fit into the rim.
Wedge a small block of hard wood from the bottom and tighten the sprocket nut. Tighten this sucker really tight!
The torque for this is 132nm.
Now bend the locking washer back down so it keeps the sprocket nut from turning. I bent it a little with my screwdriver, then tapped it in place with my small block of oak. If the bent part of the lock seems weak from being flexed too often, just bend another section that is directly over a flat on the nut after it is torqued.
On to the next step.
