QPD Belt Replacement Instructions

Next we need to remove the swingarm itself. This is a really easy job if yuu have it braced like in the previous page. First you need to loosen both sides swingarm clamping bolts so that the swingarm can be removed. You need to go through the hole in the bottom of the battery case on the left side. They need to be loosened only. not completely rremoved. But still loose enough so that the axle and spacers can slip out later.

Once you have both clamps loosened, remove the swingarm nut and slide the swingarm axle out, notice the postioning of the three spacers. LEAVE the two big spacers in the frame holes that the swingarm clamps hold. You may need to reach up under on the left side to wiggle the spacer out of that side, notice the size, this one is different than the other two that are held in place with the clamps. Slide the axle out, pull back on the swingarm and set it aside. Actually, this is a good chance to really clean it up nicely too.

Now for another great trick!! With the swingarm out, reinsert the swingarm axle, just don't tighten it up ar anything. We will use it as a brace to remove the primamry sprocket. Now bend down the little tab that helps lock the big nut on the sprocket so we can turn the nut.

Using my trusty little 3" long 10mm socket, I wedge the socket between the swingarm axle and lock it into one of the teeth/cogs on the front sprocket. This works with either a toothed or slotted sprocket too.

Now be sure it is positioned from the top for loosening (bottom for tightening) and apply a little pressure so it stays put. Now with your big ass breaker bar, torque that sucker off, if the brace socket is held right, it loosens in a flash easy as can be. Holy shit, that's sure an easy way to get that sucker off eeh?

This is the left side axle clamp bolt that you need to loosen. Then remove the black plastic cap with a screwdriver

Do the sprocket switcheroo now and reinstall the front sprocket. Just be sure to put the little brace socket under the axle this time. This is a little trickier as gravity sucks and tries to get the brace socket to fall, just apply a little constant pressure and then tighten it back up. Not hard at all.

Now remove the swingarm axle again and put the belt on the front sprocket.

On to the next step
