Has anyone else had a problem with the foot shifter hanging up, missing gears, hard to find neutral? I have pretty constantly since I got this bike. I think that I have found an easy fix. But before I take stuff back apart to document it, I wanted to gauge the magnitude of the problem. If no one else has this issue, then good. If it is a pain for everyone, then I will write something up.

Every once in awhile my bike doesn't want to go in neutral, but with a little rocking, it goes in. I guess it might be a good thing, otherwise it might want to go in N between the 1st - 2nd shift or the down shift from 2nd to 1st

Never had any kind of shifting issue on the SM or America. I have on the old twins, in that case usually the plate that moves the shift forks was worn.

All that I did was replace the wave washer that goes over the shoulder screw between shifter peddle and its mounting with a solid stainless steel spacer. The clearance is now fixed at .003 inch (room for some grease). and the peddle does not move right to left anymore. Nice smooth shifts.
