Another retro bike to tug at our heart strings and wallet.

I have to say I generally like it. A single thumper might be fun and I like that they don't have all the electronic BS on it. over 600cc on single is cool too and enough power as long as it isn't too heavy. That rad is ugly but I like the over all look. Too bad it's made in India. I also noticed it seemed like the paint wasn't so hot unless they were dirty when filmed. If they were cheaper I might want one to play with.

I enjoyed the sound of the big Royal Enfield singles coming down the street when I was travelling in India a few years ago, I suspect this will have the same appealing note.
What is the problem with them being made in India, better there then nowhere?

The Indian made stuff usually has subpar castings and fit and finish. They also usually have reliability issues. Too bad it wasn't back as a British company like the Triumph was at first, now kinda hybrid production. Part of the appeal of the newer Triumphs was that they were made in England to me, lost some of that when they started being assembled outside the UK.

I dunno Ian, while "shoddy" build quality was part of RE's gig with the prior gen bikes, they have substantially upped their game with the latest gen bikes such as the Interceptor & Meteor. That said, they are still very much price point bikes, so some compromises are of course still necessary.

I haven't seen the new generation bikes in person but the RE I have seen were pretty bad. I can deal with the low grade finish since I am gonna change quite a bit anyway but the poor castings can't be fixed. If I had the cash to do it I would love to have one of those RE V twin conversions.

RE is a different ballgame now, the paint is really good, & so are the engines.

Nice bike! I really like the look of the engine.
