Yah, I should probably come up with something more fitting, or at least a little more witty.
Tomorrow is another day, but I don't think I'm going to be able to tool around with the bike. I'll keep everyone abreast though. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I really appreciate it.

Look closely at the needle valve above the float and the seat to see if it's sticking. If not, swap the slides. It's a quick way to eliminate the diaphragm as a culprit. Then you might just spray some carb cleaner into the 'T' junction and make certain that it's really feeding the right carb freely. You've done a lot of troubleshooting to get this far and there aren't that many options left.

Success, at last. Although I'm a little miffed that I can't say what the problem was. I checked the float valve, the float height, and the float needle. I pulled all the jets and the idle screw, blew air threw everything and reassembled the carbs. The right side carb works now. I can only assume there was some kind of internal blockage that I blew out with the compressed air.

This is a first and one to remember, a carb circuit blockage causing one cylinder not to fire and not the ignition system. Glad you're back on the road.

Well, we're still waiting on that gasket. Haha.

Glad ya got it sorted out. Good learning experience though. I Bet now you could strip the bike down and back using a swiss army knife and a roll of duct tape.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Gaskets here, hopefully I'll be buttoning things up and laying down some rubber before the sun sets tonight.

When you take the stator cover off, leave the bike on the side stand. Having the bike leaning away from you is advantageous in that you won't loose oil more than a thimble full.

I wonder if this is a subset of a problem I had a few years ago with a "bad" batch of fuel. Sitting overnight in a cool mountain parking lot something in the fuel jelled and I had to clean the entire fuel path to get the bike firing right again. News reports documented that the gas station chain had indeed obtained contaminated fuel and had fouled thousands of EFI cars (much to their collective dismay).
And, isn't the fuel tube longer going to the right side after the "T" and the 'hidden filter'? More room to clog...
