I don't really have time to go mining for quotes about the site for the homepage. I really liked Ted Buffington (Michamer)'s quote when he introduced himself, but it's kind of lonely all by itself on the homepage (sidebar, Testimonials).

If this site means something to you and you would like to write a 1-3 sentence quote about it for the homepage, please respond below. But please keep replies to just that, or legitimate questions on the topic. I will edit the quotes for proper spelling, punctuation and grammar, but not for context.

Oh one last thing, if you have a negative impression of the site, for any reason, please send me a PM. I will only be posting positive quotes on the homepage.

So, what does bonnevilleamerica.com mean to you?

I wish I'd found this site before I bought my 03 BA,
not three years later. Could'a saved a lot of $$$$$.
Once here, I learned much, and made many good friends.
Been to (iirc) 4 NH, 4 NE, and 1 GA rallys. I also
put on several mini-events: my Triumph Tech Days.
I've had the pleasure to meet, and ride with over
125 or so members here. And 9 of the original moderators.
Still hope to meet Sandman, and Friar John, someday.
The info I've gotten from this site is invaluable,
and I try to share what I've learned with others.
Amen!
Uncle Charlie

I stumbled upon this site while looking for reviews on the TA.

Not only were my concerns laid to rest but I found a great bunch of people from all over the world who will assist in anyway possible and have become like a family (in a good way)

The people I've met in the flesh have been just the same as online

All in all, a great way to be welcomed back into motorcycling

You people have set me free from the tyranny of HD...and I both like and value the freedom of your thoughts.

Top two great things about owning a Triumph BA. First, riding one. Second, this site!

Riding motorcycles is a way of life. Triumph Speedmasters, Americas and Bonneville Americas have soul. Bonneville America.com brings people who live this way of life and ride these real machines together. I have found people all over the world who live the life I live and together have helped each other through this site. I urge you if you have one of these motorcycles then you need to be here, we are family.

Ride on BA.com.

I've met good people both on and off the forums that have become true friends. From technical expertise and advice, to bantering and humour, the community here is great! Our bikes brought us together, but this 'family' keeps us together.

Communication with fellow riders with the same interests. Chance to learn a fair bit of technical info from riders that have been there and done that. Overall well worth being a member of!

Okay, Charles, doing a little "cleanup" here...

What do you mean "4 NE"? New England?

This isn't a contest, but if it was, Ed wins.

Thanks everyone. All of these are in the quote database and will load randomly anytime some hits the homepage (or any other non-forum page that shows the sidebar). All except unclecharlie's, until he answers my question and I can finish the cleanup.

Because of BonnevilleAmerica.com, I bought a Speedmaster instead of a Honda.

The Forum is very "active", and Worldwide. I found answers to questions I never had to ask because others had already asked and the answers were there.

Forget a tool kit. Just have access to BonnevilleAmerica.com!

Life was without meaning. my bike wouldn't run, the sun didn't shine and my dog had bitten me. All seemed hopeless and lost until typing in a desperate plea for help , a search engine gave me this site. Today the sun is out, the bike runs better due to tech vault help and some of the members took care of that dog and gave me a new one that has no teeth... thank you BonnievilleAmerica.com my life is now worth living...

My identical twin brother found this site while waiting for delivery of his '03 Speedmaster. He made friends here and gleaned much knowledge. After he passed away I latched onto his bike and joined the site, what a great place to be.

Okay, here's ya a quote:

Four score and seven months ago(okay, maybe a little longer ago than that) our Robert Wade brought forth upon the internet a new website, conceived in the Midwest(I think) and dedicated to the proposition that not all Cruisers are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil experiment, testing whether that website, or any website so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

And so far anyway, it looks as if it can!

(...and now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some rail-splitting to do)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Gee, rosco, looking at your 17 posts two things are apparent:

1. You haven't once written a complete sentence.
2. You're a miserable cuss.

I'm happy to hear negative feedback, though I can't imagine what that would be, so I need it articulated (look it up) better than that.

I would be lost without this link to the outside world. Thanks for keeping it going.

Last summer on the Friday before a long weekend, my bike started misbehaving: stalling at idle, running rough, backfiring. I was dismayed because the weather forecast was awesome and I had planned to ride all weekend.

I got home and right away posted the symptoms in the Technical Talk forum. Within minutes, a reply came from a fellow member in Sweden: "Sounds like you have an air leak." A few minutes later I found the leak. Quick trip to the local motorcycle shop and $2 to replace a damaged "squirrel condom" and my problem was fixed.

I've saved countless hundreds (thousands?) of dollars buying and selling accessories in the Classified, gone on memorable rides with friends I met on this website, learned more about my bike than this non-mechanic ever thought he could learn, laughed my @$$ off at the stupid stuff posted in the off-topic forums, but that one saved weekend by itself was worth every minute I spent on this site.

Earlier this year I traded my America for a Rocket III (a big mistake - don't do it. PM me if you think you might want to get a Rocket one day and I'll talk you out of it), but this is still the first place I come when I want to kill some time chatting with other motorcycle enthusiasts. It's the best motorcycle forum bar none, whether you own an America or not.

I currently own 4 makes of bike (Triumph, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda). I am a member of at least one site for each of them. This site is still my favorite, hands down. I look at the others occasionally, I hang out here.

I came to this site to learn about the bike I just bought. I've learned more in a couple weeks than I ever would have with a manual and lots and lots of time. Great, helpful group of entertaining people.

Since you took the trouble to google etc for information about your Triumph motorcycle and came across "Bonnevilleamerica.com", why not hang around here and get to know why so many of us frequent this site on a daily basis.

There is more information on this site than any other Triumph site on the internet where the America/Speedmaster motorcycles are concerned. As each day passses more and more people frequent the site bringing more information to everyones fingertips.

So before you leave, join the best site on the internet, and make friends "worldwide".

I’ve heard people say,

“It doesn’t matter what you ride , just so long as whatever you ride, make’s you smile”!

Well thanks to this website its great to know that there a thousands of like minded people, worldwide that are riding around with the self same stupid grin on their faces that I’ve got!

Thanks for all the technical and mechanical data that users have posted, this site is a mine of useful information. And in the lounge forum, some maybe not so useful but equally amusing!!

Kevin Molloy R.I.P. back in 2004 wrote as a member on the Massachusetts Chapter of the British Iron Association's website:

Quote:

...Be that as it may, having recalled that the Bonneville America in its stock finery was painfully quiet, I spent a great deal of time on www.bonnevilleamerica.com, a website dedicated for TBA and Speedmaster owners to share technical and non-technical banter and post photos of their bikes, behinds and the like. The website is a tremendous resource.

It contains links to various vendors which are making and/or offering a wide variety of aftermarket performance doo-dads and chrome tom-cobbley specifically for the Bonneville, TBA and Speedmaster. The website had an on-line survey of what members had done for performance hop-ups in terms of airbox and filter modifications; removal vs. non-removal of the factory air injection system; exhaust system relief; carburetor (carburetor) rejetting; and, air/idle mixture adjustment. Before I'd taken delivery of my Speedmaster, I knew everything that needed to be done in order to make it run respectably.

I have really enjoyed everything about Triumph Motorcycles since I cobbled my first (a 1973 bonnie 750) back to life from the boxes back in 1976. Since then I have restored/rebuilt another 12 over the years (rode em & sold em). Looking back over all that wrench time, I wish there had been as comprehensive a resource for technical information as the BonnevilleAmerica website available then. When I bought my 07 BA, I searched for a website so I could learn more about the newer Triumphs including my BA. What I found here is a tresure trove of really great technical information, and individuals willing to assist/guide fellow Triumph enthusiasts with hands on information. I found a real "world community" of people who enjoy Triumph cycles, and love riding as much as I do.

Here's a few slogans I've been thinking of:

Bonnevilleamerica.com: Because pointing and saying "Bike broke" to the mechanic is only for Harley riders.

Bonnevilleamerica.com: Getting more horsepower that Sportsters since 2001.

Bonnevilleamerica.com: Where logos cost less than $150.

Bonnevilleamerica.com: Proving parrallel twins are badass.

Bonnevilleamerica.com: Rice should be steamed not burned.

Bonnevilleamerica.com: "Does this mean I need to rejet?"

Bonnevilleamerica.com: You're not a biker till you get grease under your fingernails.

I can't always be riding my America. For the times I am not, there is BonnevilleAmerica.com.

or...

BonnevilleAmerica.com... Helps to pass the time until I can ride again.

Admittedly, I am not too good at this, but I thought I'd include myself anyway

I dont come on here much anymore, not like I used to. But I always found this site to be a true bike club, albeit a Virtual one. I can come in the lounge, see some old faces, meet some new ones and I'm always welcome.
And the added bonus, I can sink a few pints and I dont have to worry about getting home.

Best biker club I ever joined.

At the local Triumph dealer I was told that only 3% of the motorcycles In the U.S. are Triumph. That means for every 100 motorcycles I pass on the road only 3 will be Triumphs. Thank God for BonnevilleAmerica.com. I come here to learn and share a passion for a motorcycle. I do not want to be one of the crowd, but I am grateful for a place I can be among the 3 percent.

I have been with Bonnevilleamerica.com from the very beginning. I rode my black '03 out of the showroom and met Robert online the next day. The site has always been a friendly, fun and personal experience. Not only can you get 100% pure unfiltered Triumph motorcycle knowledge, but being here usually feels like the greatest old bike shop in the world, complete with great fix advice and smartass, salty bikers. BA.com is truly one of a kind. Thank you Robert...

It's hard to believe I've been a member here for 14 years this April. It really is like family. there is not a day that goes by that I don't check in.

That best part IMO is the many many people I've have been fortunate enough to meet as a result of being here. As fun as it is to cruise the BA.COM site it is even better to meet the people and connect the faces and spend time with the members here. Several of you have become close friends and riding buddies.

Here's to the next 14 years.
