I know what oil to use is an ongoing topic. Different people swear by different oils .Here is some information on Amsoil oil for those that are not aware.
Recommended for Engines,Transmissions and primary chain case, wet clutch Amsoil 20W-50 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle oil
This oil meets Triumph specs also. API SG SL/CF JASO MA SAE 90 API GL-1
Not recommended for shaft drive hypoid gears or where an API-GL-4 or GL-5 gear oil is required.
Additional information ,See internet, Amsoil Site
Again, there are a lot of fine motorcycle oils on the market.
Amsoil also has filters although I always use the Factory Filters. Triumph oil filters get the job done ,well made.

I am running the synthetic oil. Not sure what brand, its whatever the dealer uses as that is where my oil and filter work is done.

Somewhere, some good ol' boy is running "reg'lar ahl". Hahaha
It seems to me that Amsoil is about as good as it gets, but there are many oils that'll do the job in one's Turnip engine.
The only thing to be aware of when using a different oil from what Triumph recommends is that it should not have modern friction reducers, which harm a wet clutch. See other oil threads at this and most other bike sites for the complete scoop.
Oh, if you have a Wiseco big bore kit (which has cast iron sleeves), you can use Shell Rotela T from Wal-Mart - a great oil at a decent price.

FWIW, Rotela is (at least was) approved for use in Lycoming opposed aircooled aircraft engines.

Another consideration is that different oils can actually rob power noticably ! I will of course get flamed for this by some, but i mentioned this at RAT and found a few who agreed having experienced the same thing. I tried that valvoline bike oil thats been discussed here and for the next few days or a week my bike was running slower than usual. Accelleration was quite noticable lessened and felt as tho i'd lost what i had gained getting the jetting right. I was unhappy with the bike's performance for the 1st time since i nailed the jetting after modding the airbox. At first i thought something was wrong till it hit me the oil could be to blame. So i took the $ hit and put the Mobil 1 V twin stuff back in and sure enough my bike was back ! I can only attribute it to the valvoline i *think* (or is it?)being dino oil and not as slick as synthetic. But whatever it was, i was shocked it could make as much difference as it did. So i'm sticking with V twin which i highly suspect is the same oil as the mobil one thats in the triumph branded bottles.

I don't think you are suggesting that someone use aircraft oil in their bike, but there are big differences between aircraft oils and automotive/bike oils. This is in part due to differences in engine seal and gasket material.

I just got my first order from Brent, including 2 oil change kits. Does anyone have any experience with the Motul?I didn't realize it was made in France, I'm not sure if I would have ordered it, had I known. Charlie

Dang. I am sure glad I found out that is Gaulic oil. I never much liked gaulic anyway. Gives you bad breath.
That oil will desert you when it counts sure as fireworks fly on the fourth of July.
