Have any of you replaced the clutch plates and discs, not the whole basket. with out using the service tools in the book the clutch holder, or the alignment tool. Is it possible to do the job within reason with out them? By with in reason I mean not needing to make the tools yourself or going insane to get it right?

Chad,

When I replaced the steels, fibers and springs a few years back, I did it without any special tools to line them up. It took a while but you can do it with patience. It was also before learning there was a tool out there to line things up..
