Wondering if someone could direct me ... I'm totally new here, have an '02 America and when I tried to start it for the first time this year, the motor tried to turn over (a couple seconds) then I get a clicking. Totally charged the battery and cleaned the terminal connections. Clicking coming from what appears to be the starter relay on the right side of the bike under the side cover. Where on this site might I get info about this kind of problem and is there a good site to go to look at a schematic of the starting/charging system. I tried to find info on the "official" Triumph site but it was worthless.

Hello Thomas and welcome to the site.

You might want to start a new thread by posting the question in the Miscellaneous section. Probably get more action there. That part that is clicking under the side cover is the starter solenoid. It appears to not be getting enough voltage to complete the circuit. As a test, make sure the bike is in neutral and jump the two heavy wires with a screwdriver. If the bike turns over check the starter relay under the fuel tank. Contacts in the relay can be corroded. I usually take the relays apart and check the points in them. Replace the relay if needed. You can match them up in most auto shops.

Also, make sure your ground from the battery to the frame is also good and tight.

Thank you, great info. I'll check those things and will start a new thread in misc. if I'm still stumped.
