Help!
I'm seriously interested in buying one.
Anyone got one?

I'd be very interested in one of RE's new 650 Twins when they make a Scrambler version of it, Alan.

I think that would be cool as hell, and especially if they can keep the price down in the $6K range.

(...hopefully RE will soon get their butts in gear and actually produce something like this, as I know I'm not alone in this wish)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My dad had a 350 bullet and he said it had a hand pump on the side of the bike so you could give it an extra shot of lube when running hard. He said he used to do it and make a smoke screen behind him. I can remember him telling me this and chuckling about it.

I've owned a couple of Bullets in my time...the Indian ones were ok but the metallurgy wasn't.
Anytime you unscrewed something you wondered if the resulting threads would strip.
I went to a dealers last week and had my first good look at the Enfield trials.
Sadly it wasn't up to the mark. It looked like it'd fall apart first time out. Poor build quality again.
The new 650 twins were in stock too. Again the standard of fit and finish was none too great but if the engine turns out to be robust I too would be interested .
I'll wait and see with those....let the buying public do the factory's development work.

The mechanic who recently worked on my 550 Spyder, purchased one of the new 650 twins a while back. He let me take it out for a spin the day I dropped off the Spyder to him.

It sure seemed like a solid, well designed and well-built motorcycle to me anyway, Alan. And, much more so than any of RE's older single models.

(...in other words, I don't think the public's services in these regards will be a bit necessary)

I'm pleased the engine feels solid...I really want to like these bikes.
I was just concerned about the ancillaries... switchgear, wiring etc looked a bit on the flimsy side and didn't inspire confidence on my part....plus even in the showroom the alloy on the left side casing had already started to look rather dull...and no it wasn't the demo bike either.
I'm waiting to see how the ones around here survive a British winter...lots of damp and roads liberally strewn with road salt.
My Thunderbird isn't too bad so long as it's kept clean and wiped down after use but even so I tend to ride my old Tiger 955i as it's not got any shiny bits on it to rot away.
But let's see .....

Dwight, your wish is their command. RE are preparing a 650 twin version of the Himalayan right now.
Check out what this Dutch girl does on and off road touring around the world.with the 400cc version on YouTube.
She has over 100 episodes covering many coiuntries (starting off in India).
Her channel is called "Itchy Boots".

P.S. Also check out (below) what this nutcase does off-road with the Himalayan. Impressive.

Just as a follow up to my post above, it appears that RE are not only preparing the 650 Himalayan I mentioned above, but also a Scrambler, Cruiser at 650cc's AND a Bobber (which could have an even bigger displacement, 838cc's is being rumored).

Now that all looks very interesting.
And so far, reliability appears to be good.
Q. Do I need another bike?
A. Does a gentleman need only 3 shirts?

I watched the video, What was I looking for that made him a nut case or that was impressive? When I used to ride off road that was nothing, in fact, very tame. The places we used to ride in the slate quarries were way more difficult, one trail was 1/.2 way up a waste slate bank, couple hundred feet down to the water on one side and about the same up on the other just wide enough for the wheel about a mile or so long to get from East Bangor to Bangor parts of the quarries. Some hill climbs that you had to have quite the bike and good skills to get up and even then you might not make it. Just a couple of examples, those trails we made went on for miles.
