Today I hit the 90,000 mile mark on the 2006, America. Does anybody know if I would get 150,000 miles out of this motorcycle. I'm very anal about changing the oil, full synthetic Castrol. I keep up with maintenance also. I would love to get a used Thunderbird. But the wife is not feeling it. I may have to go off the reservation and just get a used Triumph.

The "word" in the past was that the America motors were good for 200,000 miles.

Yes, in a word, it's possible....especially with a good maintenance regime. By the way, what's failed/ fallen apart so far?..I'm always interested to know.

Just rolled over 75,000 on my '05. Required 2 new exhaust valves on the right cylinder due to incorrect float setting that got missed by assumption. New rings installed (may as well with cylinder head removed). Runs like new!

This is very encouraging for someone with only 49350 km on my 07. It warms the cockles of my heart to think Crantini will be with me until the end, mine Crantini will still be ticking long after I assume.

So far the only major issue was the electric brain. I forget what it is called. But the part was $800, plus install. One accident a gentleman on a motor cycle rear ended me. I still don't know how. other than is was going very fast coming over a hill and got me. The rest is just regular maintenance, and oil change with full synthetic every 5000 to 6000 miles. And lots of brake pads.

That's even more than "we have no shame, professional gougers" Indian gets for their computer brain part. Mine was replaced under warranty and would have cost $350.
