I was more concerned about how close his head was getting to those rocks.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

WOW! A Harley rider who not only knows what the term "late apexing" means, but actually practices it as well! I'm IMPRESSED!!!
I've been on that road, Mulholland Hwy in SoCal, many a time, and I've NEVER seen a Harley rider able to ride that well.
(...will wonders never cease)

I thought He'd lost it when the back end slid out at one stage. It looked like he was on "the edge" most of the time He could ride sure but maybe a touch of insanity in there too

Yeah, but how he saved it by his knowledge and skill at good throttle control was pretty impressive, wouldn't ya say Paul?!
'Cause THAT'S where someone riding that fast and over their abilities is almost sure to high-side themselves by over-correction.
(...and I've seen THAT happen to others SO many times out there)

Race track riding on a public road, Goes to show that stupid is not restricted to any one style of bike. A bit of gravel or maybe some Anti freeze over flow and they all go down, cruiser or sportbike.

I live thirty miles from the Dragon. Been there too many times. The yellow Goldwing in the video is Yellow Wolf, he is the king of that road IMO. And his camera him aint to shabby. If you've never ridded this stretch let me assure you what Yellow Wolf does on a bike that size is just about impossible. Been many a good rider come out of there on a gurney. He is nuckin futs!

That is totally different. The guy on the gold wing appears to be completely in control of his ride. The guy on the HD video did not. Granted they are way different bikes, but the rider is either in control or not, is insane a third option?

Yep, Dennis makes an excellent point here.
Although I earlier praised this guy's abilities at taking the right line into and out of turns, and at his throttle control, the idea of going over "9/10th" of one's riding abilities and on any motorcycle's performance capabilities regardless of its type(standard, cruiser, sportbike) AND on a public road, is foolhardy at best if not downright "insane".
And, I have the "scars" to prove this point.
Around 1999 or so, I was riding my 1995 Triumph Sprint over a very twisty road which I had never ridden before located up in the Santa Monica Mountains of SoCal and near where this H-D rider was shown, and yeah, at near my limits. I quickly, MUCH too quickly, found myself upon a "worst case scenario" type situation...a rightward downhill, decreasing radius and off-camber stretch of road, and which as bad enough as that was, also had some sand washed across it after a recent stretch of rain.
Starting to low-side I then attempted a "save" but ended up crossing the double-yellow(thankfully there was no traffic coming in the opposite direction) and rode off the road to the left and down the embankment on the other side and dropped the bike on its left side.
(...and so, moral of story here...very few people are or will ever be a Valentino Rossi, but IF you think you MIGHT be, it's always best to attempt one's proof of such a thing during track time at your local race track, and where there is seldom if ever the possibility of there being sand and/or any other type of debris strewn across it and/or traffic coming at you in the opposite direction)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
