Terrible news from Baltimore.
Thoughts to all those involved.
Woke up this morning to that on the news. Terrible, some cars on the bridge when it collapsed. Maybe 7 but possibly up to 20. Pulled a couple survivors out of the water, one is OK other has severe injuries. They are still searching but I doubt any left submerged will survive.
Imagine if this had happened during rush hour traffic ?!
It doesn't bear thinking about.
.
Thousands cross that bridge every day. Rush hour would have been an even more terrible loss of life. Looks like there are 6 people missing that they know of so far.
Thanks to the quick thinking and immediate actions of the crew and the people on the bridge a lot of lives were saved. It could have been much worse.
I heard that authorities are looking to blame someone for negligence looking for someone to sue I guess. A canadian ship expert was on TV that day and said yes those big motors do stall, more often then one would think .Perhaps a better design of footing or tug boats used in critical situations would have been appropriate, look back inwards port authority.
