Brake stuff

When removing the front rotor, you may consider heating the bolts both from the head and thru the spokes to the tip of the bolts. These are in VERY tight and with loctite!! And the bolts a $6 a pop, so don't screw them up! Ask me how I know...

I have found that the Tucker Rocky book, which is used at many parts counters, has the wrong information for EBC rear pads, listing them as the same as the front pads - FA196. The correct EBC part number for TBA rear pads is FA214. An FA196 pad will not fit on the rear of a TBA or Speedmaster.

As an addendum to Ben's post, I spoke with my dealer about the bolts holding the brake rotors on. He says definitely heat the bolts up to melt the loctite before removal. You will round the heads out of them otherwise.

Moe's Edit: Use heat? Alternatively, use a hand held impact driver to break the blue loctite holding the rotor bolts. These are only torqued to 22nm. It's that dern blue locktite! The repair manuals say to replace the bolts no matter how you get them out!
