Has any one on here put any of the paughco pipes on their bike? They seem pretty low on the price and am wondering if they sound at least decent. I figure almost anything is better then the sound of riding a sewing machine.

There are cheap Emgo pipes out there that sound good, I like my cut and gutted stock pipes.

I looked at their mufflers a while back. Had a question about the baffles used that went unanswered. Don't remember if I called or emailed. They had a large selection and seemed competitively priced.
There are actually a lot of choices out there that can be used.

It is a well known name, they made springers and hardtails for years.

I have them on my bike. Seem to be good quality, added baffles as they were very loud.

mgpauls, Did the pipes come with any baffle, or were they straight pipes that you added baffles to? How do they sound with the baffles?

I like the stock sound of the machine I'm riding. My sister in law had loud pipes on her Harley, didn't like her or the loud pipes.

They are still pretty darn loud with the baffles. They did not come with any baffles, and were in my opinion too loud without them.

MG can you post the link to the baffles you added? It just brings me to the home page for deniskirk not to the actual baffel that you used. Break how did you install them?

I just rolled up some Stainless baffles (version 4.0) for a pair of C. Shakers and due to the tapered inside diameter I am thinking of using stove door rope in lieu of blanket packing. Anybody have any input/experience to share on this idea? I'm thinking rope may be less likely to bunch up, but that stuff isn't cheap, I priced it.

I finally took delivery of a roll of Graphite/Fiberglass 1/2' rope, its main purpose is for a good seal for woodstove doors. I have been fiddling and managed to fab up a good fitting set of baffles for a pair of Cocktail Shakers using all 304 Stainless, sans packing, they sounded similar to unpacked Epcos, maybe a little louder. So I wired in traditional packing (Ver 3.0) and gave that a go and it shredded in 25 miles, all bunched up, yet trapped, I assume because of the tapered body of the can. So now, I'm going with the rope. So far the sound is satisfactory, again close to Epcos, but seem to flow better due to the shorter perforated 1" stick right down the middle of the pipes. I started with 1 1/2" baffle tube(Ver,2.0), way too loud and I lost too much low end torque, so 1" seems to be the answer. If the rain will stop, I can give a better review.
