I've had them for about 8 years they are great pipes,just feel like it's time to try a different look and sound and it's hard to beat that price.

Hay game on I would bet they would be the same jetting as emgo's they look very open. When you get them on do a before and after video if you can. I like the look of them and I am running emgo's I want a different sound.

How long are they?

I will see what I can do but I am what is called technologically challenged. I'm thinking it will work out fine right now I am running a little rich.

Ok since I am copying everyone else, mine showed up today and I have one question: how did you all mount the rear of the pipes or are you just letting the header carry the weight. I was thinking about maybe a clamp on the lower frame tube going to the mounting brackets?

Right now they are just hanging on the header. Doing just fine. I'll rig up mounts to the frame tube or center stand mounts shortly.

I want a set so bad right now!!!

I don't know how the roads are where you are but up here they suck. I have a 3 mile stretch on the way to work which most resembles riding a jackhammer. I'm not sure I would trust it. I might try a heavy duty clamp on the frame tube with a piece of steel going to the bracket. If that doesn't work I have a friend who can weld something up.

Just did about 250 miles today with mine just hanging on the header. No problems but I still plan on rigging some type of rear bracket. They sound so awesome. Really love em !!

How about a close up of your header wrap.

Did you lay a string or something over it and spray it with color wrap paint to get that "Marbled" look? Or am I losing my mind?

just installed mine. very happy. using my same jetting as i had with my fully debaffled stock pipes. no brackets, i think they'll be fine. the mounts are kinda in a wonky spot for fabbing something up. big ups on my lady for the present.

finally put mine on they sound great but I feel like I lost some low end power espically on take off I need to wind it up a little bit to get the same launch. Could this be due to the wider diameter exhaust causing a loss of backpressure? Or will I need to re-jet, any suggestions?

It does sound as if you need to add a restrictor to get your low end back. The torque at low RPM on these motors is paltry to begin with, so there you go.

Shame, I REALLY wanted to see that pattern up close, or hear how he did it.

so since these pipes are made for harleys, they're both expected to be on one side of the bike. putting one on the left means that either the brackets or the 'rinehart' etching will be kinda wonky.

to remedy this, i removed the tips and used a long no.7 drill to center a hole across from the middle one. the threads are 1/4-20, if anyone cares.

i'm also thinking about wrapping the baffles in fiberglass in the hopes of quieting them down a little bit. i like the sound as is, but i get off work at 2am, and would rather not wake the neighbors. yesterday, one plugged his ears as i rounded the corner on my way out.

so i just packed the cans with fiberglass and i really like the sound better. i'll have to get a video later, i promised i'd take grandma out.

anyway, i wouldn't say it's subdued. off throttle it might be a little. i dunno. usually i'm better making words cooperate with other words. i like it. less hollow sounding. i also felt like the backpressure helps. i debaffled my stockers maybe 2 years ago and forgot what torque was.

the glass was eleven bucks at cycle gear, and cut in half it fit perfectly. i'd say go for it just to hear it in person. if you don't like it you're out not very much.

Steve, tell me more. I like the tone of Rinehart's but they are about a 1/2 a notch louder than I would like. Also felt I lost a bit of low to mid range grunt compared to the Cocktail Shakers & modified TORs I've run previously.
When you remove the tips is there a baffle pipe attached? Or do you have to pull a separate piece out? Was there any baffle wrap already there?

so the tips come off with the three screws. 4mm, i think. there's no wadding in there already. both my baffles came out rather easily. grab them with some vise grips or even regular pliers would probably work.

All righty then. I will explore that option. I have packing/wrap left over from the TOR modifications experiments.
The cocktail shakers are still in the oven after I painted them today to match the headers. Had considered going back to them to regain the lost low end grunt, or is it back pressure maybe. They may still be the backup mufflers.

Okay. Had a little bit of cruising time and the difference is when the engine isn't under heavy load. It's not as obnoxious. You know how hours of loud as piss exhaust will make you insane? Seems like you could go significantly farther with the cans packed. And to think I went coast to coast and back with only headers. No idea how I survived that.

I checked mine today. No way to get the baffle/core pipes out, at least not without damaging something else. Did have room to stuff plenty of baffle wrap in there though.
Went on a beer run after the race. Well, a very indirect route for a beer run anyway. Where they were a notch or .75 of a notch LOUD they are now a bit richer sounding & maybe .25 of a notch loud compared to the previous exhaust. I like the sound better now, liked it before but is just a bit better now

Pulled the baffles out of mine today and wrapped with fiberglass. Much better. No longer ear piercing. Very happy with the sound now.

I'm still happy with mine for the most part.
Did add a short baffle to regain a bit back pressure, closer to the exhaust the motor was dyno tuned with. They have weathered a bit with age but was expected, especially as I don't have a garage to park in. Put them on almost 3 years/14,000 miles ago.
