CTNewbie, I think you are still putting out the same emissions, because there is no equipment on these bikes to convert stuff line carbon monoxide or hydrocarbons. The AI is just helping burn off some unburnt fuel in the exhaust, the product of which is carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, so really, IMHO at least, the AI isn't doing anything except maybe fooling the sniffers when the bikes are certified to meet "emissions standards". Now the German-market bikes come with a Catalytic converter, there it might make a difference!
