Are you talking about the fork shrouds... in this case lower fork shrouds?
Assuming your dealer wont do anything for you...
Mine used to make a clank every so often. There are a few things to consider here... 1 - There is a rubber grommet at the top. This, before it breaks in, is somewhat thick and causes the shroud to sit not quit so even around the lower fork leg.
I took mine off, bent the mounting tab a bit then used a couple washers to allow it to sit even. I also shot some WD40 at the rubber to give it some lube in case the vibes were making the rubber stick after rattling around the fork tube for a while. There should technically be NO MOVEMENT but its rubber and the bike does rattle a bit.
2 - The top of the lower fork (not shroud) has a hard plastic ring at the top. It keeps the lower shroud in alignment around the fork leg...well, its supposed to.
It could be that something got up in there and is causing it to bind at a certain spot. In that case some WD40 would do the trick. WD40 doesn't eat paint so don't worry... put a rag at the bottom of each one overnight and you should be fine.
3 - if the bike has been lowered using the Progressive lowering spring kit then the lower shrouds could be coming in contact with the inner fender. Check your fender where it wraps around the fork leg for scratches or damage.
In this case un-lower of remove lower fork shrouds.
