Who's had a good experience with a vendor when ordering the copper gaskets? The nearest dealer isn't on my favorite list, not because of any specific reason but they really didn't strike me as truly knowledgable when it came to parts.

I got a couple from our local Honda dealer. Can't remember which bike matches up... I just went in with one in hand and ended up leaving with a pair of exactly the same size.

Thanks fellows, good responses both. However, you didn't answer the question. I want to support a Triumph vendor since so many have had a hard time staying in business. Anyone? I know Ian's going to pitch Hermy's, I was just looking for someone a little closer.

Great dealership that supports the New Hampshire Rally. I've met Joe and subsequent to that meeting I've ordered parts from him with a phone call.

BS. You didn't ask for a Triumph source; you asked where to get them. My answer told you what kinds of places you can go locally to get the part. I don't think a little gasket purchase is going to make or break a Triumph dealership.

So you can support my dealership in Missoula, MT. www.miketingleys.com

Done. Next!

Thanks, Moe, that qualifies as a good experience on a Triumph specific forum.

Why are you trying to goad me into a fight, John? Reread the original post and tell me how that remotely relates to asking you to cross reference the part number. I thanked you in the second post because I know the search engine here is cumbersome and it takes time to use. Then you BS'd me, young man. WTF?

Nope, I was genuinely trying to help. Keith mentioned a type of vendor who is a dealership albeit not a Triumph dealership. Hence I posted the Honda cross-reference list. Then you said the question you did not ask wasn't answered. If you reread your original post you did not ask specifically for a Triumph dealership/vendor, you were just looking for the part. Asked and answered. I don't know about Alabama but Triumph dealerships are few and far between around here. I would like to support one, but I also don't mind supporting a local business that doesn't suck, so I get some parts from the Honda or Yamaha dealer (in particular, valve shims). Pretty clear cut to me.

This is good evidence of how one person's writing can be totally misinterpreted by other readers. I will try harder next time to ask precisely worded questions to get the answers I'm looking for.

I will try to read for comprehension. I get it wrong more often than I care to admit.
