I'm not sure who knows about the MAG Get A Grip campaign but have a look at their site here .

We've no doubt all had one of those momnets where we chew our shorts after riding over a wet manhole cover, after all, they are so 'conveniently' positioned on corners, in the middle of the road and on roundabouts aren't they?

Find your local MP here and send him or her an email.

There are companies and organisations out there producing non-slip manhole covers that could save lives.

It's not just us, paramedics and the law ride too.
Not forgetting some kid riding to school on his/her pushbike.

Composite materials are of no scrap value to the thieving scrotes that nick cast iron manhole covers.

Though it might not look like it, these numpties in 'power' work for us, get in touch with 'em.

At the very least, log onto the MAG site and 'sign' the petition.

WHAAT ? Well , I suppose it's no surprize what the lowest will do for some cash to get high . And the IDIOT scrap yard that would buy manhole covers should be held just as complicent in the crime .

BTW , PC'ness would dictate they be called "Personel Access Ports"

Yep, that's certainly true, Wade. However, I always sorta get a kick out of readin' about the morons who are just smart enough to know that there's a greater "return" in the copper market than in the iron market, and so these "geniuses" attempt to swipe copper wiring in utility poles and such, and which sometimes leads to a sorely needed "shock to their system" and "enlightenment" at the very end that a life of crime may not have been worth the bother!!!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

They should be prosecuted for attempted murder if or when they catch them.
Any way don't know if being it will help (being I am in Texas and this looked like a UK thing) but I sighned the petition.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. Edgar Allan Poe
