No the rear end did not stand up under throttle, the drive shaft was extremely long so it countered that effect.
I had a 2000 R 1200 C, 61 HP 70 lbs.ft torque, same size tires front and back as the america/speedy, handled just as well. Even weighed the same, about 497 lbs.
Great very reliable bike.
