I could leave the handle bar on the Metz no problem. I have Dunlop now and it's really wobbly when I leave the handles bars, altho I did lower the rear of the bike ( I guess that's not helping )

Other then that, I think the HD Dunlop 401 aren't exactly the same as the 404's.

I had 16 000 miles on the stock metz, and rear is still good ( 4-5mm thread )
