When I was a teenager we used to hang out at the local pool. One of the lifeguards left for home (a very short distance away) with nothing on except a helmet and swim shorts. Guess what happened... you got it, he slid on some gravel in a corner and went down. Road rash does not even come close to describing what happened to him. He lived but can't imagine the pain he suffered.
I agree... wear stuff that protects you!
