I won't bore you with details but I had a altercation with a copper over a "firework" incident a few months back. He decided against issuing an FPN for misuse of fireworks but decided to charge me with "use of an explosive device" It soon became apparent that he had no idea what he was talking about.
I just let him carry on filling out his form knowing that it was littered with mistakes. Haven't heard a thing since. 
Ought to point out that in my part of the world fireworks are a way of life.
