O.K. I admit it, I'm the cautious type when it comes to even simple stuff like this. I bought a Uni-Filter, cut out the bottom out of it, and then cut a corresponding hole in the bottom of the airbox, leaving the little tabs that hold the filter in place. I see a space and then a apparently a second bottom to the airbox. Do I need to drill thru that as well? It seems like more air will get thru with what I have done, but I wanted to see what others have done. After I get thru with this stage I'm going to tackle rejetting which should generate lots of questions from me. But first things first, what say you all! Thanks in advance ..

Are you sure you are seeing a 2nd bottom of the air box or are you actually seeing the top of the swingarm? I would have to go back out and look at one of my old air boxes but I don't think the bottom was double layer.

I had the same thought when I drilled my airbox.
It was the top of the swingarm I was looking at.

There's a lot of ways to do this. Here's (1/2 into post) how I did it when I ran with the hole-in-the-box mod prior to the ghetto freak.

Tom

Upon further review and after your comments it does appear that I was looking at the top of the swingarm (I wouldn't have known what a swingarm looked like if it came up and bit me). So, I think I'm good to go on the Uni-Filter and airbox drilling, and it will be on to the rejetting project. I'm just going to follow the instructions from Dinqua and pray for the best. Any pointers before I get started will be appreciated. Thanks ..
