sounds about right, if you smell gas at a stop the bike is probably rich or leaking a bit of gas. when i had my stock carbs they were both on slightly different settings so dont be afraid if they are not dead on the same. how many tunrs out are you at now? seems most people runs the stock 42 pilots with the occasional running 45's
