That definitely wouldn't look good with the new paint.

I'll tell you, I wound up taking my wrap off. My bike is all black, so it wasn't an aesthetics thing. First off, it stinks- and smokes- for a week. Every time it gets wet, it stinks- and smokes- for a week. It gets dirty and stays stained. My bike would "steam" condensation from the pipes any morning it was below about 60 deg F. When I took it off, my pipes were stained from it. It took a lot of work to get teh stains out (almost all came out, but not all).
Did you use the silicone spray made for the exhaust wrap?

The high quality Dupont paint (shameless plug) has been "acquired" but not yet squirted. The new fenders are trimmed and ready for primer, which will hopefully go on this weekend so I can start block sanding. The new tank is awaiting modifications -- long story -- let's just say valve shims aren't the only parts I've been waiting on (friggin' Drag Specialties and NYC Choppers, there's just no quality control anymore!). Stylistically it's a synthesis of about 20 different bikes on this site with my own twist thrown in. But starting this weekend I'll hopefully be running the bike again but with the orange bits still. Hey look, I derailed my own thread. Bad monkey!

I'd prefer a link to this stuff
As a family oriented site, I would also prefer youse guys do links instead of embedded pics.

When it first went on. I thought that was what was stinking. I think it was the dye. I used black wrap.
Here is a pic where you can kinda see what I was trying t explain about going around the X-over pipe...

So you're not wrapping the whole crossover pipe , just the ends of it?

Correct... just where it "T"s into the exhaust. The wrap around the x-over covers the slight "V" gap from the split. You can barely see it then, and no chrome shows through.
