Riding bikes is more of a mind thing than a coordination excersise. Learning to steer and gear comes fairly quickly, but learning to control your mind will never stop (where you look, how you read traffic, reacting to problems, planning lane control, etc.). This seems to be where you're at. You need to read as much as you can, and practise what you learn to gain confidence in your ride.
