Here I go again. This is the very reason I think everyone should start out on a small dirt bike (100cc). You get a feel for traction and rear wheel sliding. If you fall, you fall at low speeds in an empty field. It's still not too late to pick up a used dirt bike. They can be found for $500-$1000 with a little searching.
Your problem now is you've had a bad situation that occurred once. And you never want it to happen again. Understandable, but it's better to make this situation happen again and again in a safe, controlled environment, and learn to manage that slide, straighten it out, and not crash. You'll learn more in a month on dirt than in six months on the street.
