It's been said about a million times in here...these bikes like to rev. I was cruising down the interstate yesterday doing about a real 75 mph or so, which was around 4200 rpm with my 17/41 sprocket setup. The bike just purrs along at that rpm, like it was made to run at that speed. I always seem to be running around 4,000 RPM or a little over in 4th and 5th gears. There's a sweet spot in that range that my bike just seems to like.
