I tried boat building once. It turns out that I can't build boat, but I can make a heck of an anchor!

Actually, I enjoy leather work, and I'm working on my first custom seat. It has a fibreglass seat pan, which was a first for me as well!

Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

My dad has built a few Sharpies in the past, plans are available on the net. He's big into boats.

Until I searched for that link I never ever new that Sharpies originated in New Haven, Connecticut.

With you guys driving on the wrong side of the road over there... do you also shout "Port" instead of starboard whilst racing boats.

Cool outboard...

edit: as for hobbies... none of mine are tradeskills. I just do a lot of Hiking and BA riding

I've been woodworking for a lot of years now. One very important thing that I learned was that the better the tool, the better the product you will turn out. If you have the money and get really interested, a Shopsmith is a great, quality multi purpose tool to own.

Woodworking has been a mainstay for many years as has wrenching on cars and bikes. I've built two boats, a pirogue (cajun style) and a regular john boat along with desks, printer stands, tables and a large number of road cases and amp/speaker rigs. The router and biscuit joiner are my friends

I make 1/12 scale doll houses. I put wall paper in them, polished wood floors and electric lights. The last one i made took a year to build, and that was working on it every night for two to three hours a night. It had three floors and each of the three staircases had 80 seperate pieces of wood in them. Havent made any for a few years now. The next one i make will be for my little girl and it will be a palace. I will start on that just as soon as i can find some room in my garage for a work bench big enough to hold the house. The only area i have at the moment is taken up with a Triumph.....hence the reason i havent started on the palace.

I've been wood working since I was little,(took the tip of my finger off in my grandfathers jointer)Never did a boat but he used to make canoes that were wooden frame with canvas skin. I have made furniture and used to frame houses for a living. Haven't had time or room for it lately but still have all the tools. Guns are another big interest of mine.

I'm just getting into woodworking. Tried it off and on a few times but never had the money or the time before.
I still don't, but now I've got a router and table to go with my antique Sears table saw, radial arm saw, drill press, bench top jointer, and band saw.

If nothing else, I can always sell sawdust to the circus...

the main thing is my 3 piece band... Anyone intersted can hear my stuff here... www.myspace.com/vomitonthechildren I wrote these songs, played the drums, did vocals, and recorded for those tracks. Bands called "dead pegasus"

heres some artwork i did for the band and some other misc artwork.

these pics are some me and the wife took, and then i photoshopped them into some kinda arty whatnot. Im probably gonna be building the frames for these and having them printed at a higher resolution to be mounted all inside my house.

cool to see fellow drummer! (that also rides a triumph )

this is a band that I play in, not any really finished song on this site, but we're working on them and I think they gonna rock! we are a quasi-cool, semi-metal-band with somewhat punk attitude and a low self esteem. lol

Nah, fingers aren't really a problem, that's why the supreme being gave us so many, he knew we'd need extra! As for saw dust, you'd be surprised how many people line up for my broken splinters. Mom wants the cedar chips(to stuff dolls), others want it for garage floor cleanup, and my parrot likes the big pine scrapings in her cage!

Best. Band. Name. Ever.

In college my buddies and I thought the best name for a heavy metal band would be Pelvic Thrust. Alas, I was the only one who played an instrument. But you don't see a lot of trombones in heavy metal.

Nah! I heard just before that concert, Metallica's frontman, James Hetfield, dispensed some kind'a weird stuff to the S.F.S.'s horn section, and so they called it all off at the last minute!!!

(and they didn't even give out rain-checks for cryin' out loud!!!)

I always thought Moose Knuckle was a good band name.

As for the WW tools, I got a nice delta contractor saw with LOTS of extras used from a guy who babied it. Worlds apart from the ancient and not good craftsman I had. Also have a decent mitre saw, router (no table YET), drill press, band saw, some drills, sander, and a couple nail guns. My clamp collection is growing steadily

play guitar(church-gospel, electric metal, blues, bluegrass), write poetry, custom build PCs, mechanic on antique JD tractor and my bikes and cars, terrorize my cat, computer graphics, DVD family memories, audio stuff on the PC, play video games on PC and console, watch movies, oversee care of aged parent, teach computer stuff at career college and Bible college, I do my own home repair, welding, I guess I'm a Jack of all trades, master on none. Mostly the last couple years, I just wanna ride my bike (mid-life crisis and all that)

Love music of all kinds. Jazz and classical are on the top of my list. The real head banger stuff and hip hop are not on my list. Love jig saw puzzles and we watch a lot of movies. I also read a lot. Motorcycling is just about my only out door activity.
