Making Custom Pipes From Your Stock Pipes

Put them Back On and Ride It!

Ok, pretty much done now. I just had to reinsert the new baffle assemblies into the pipes, again. I also put a line of the orange high temperature RTV compound on the inside of each pipe before assembling. This seals the pipes from leaks around the slip-ons. You also have to let this setup for at least 24 hours or it will just all blow out and you will leak. Here's everything all laid out for my re-assembly.

This shot is looking down the end of the pipe with the newest baffle assembly inserted and screwed in. Notice the 2 sheet metal screws holding the assembly in place.

Here is a final shot that is comparing the length of my old Triumph Short Off Road pipes next to the new improved pipes.

So, that's about it, not a hard job, especially if you get someone else to do all the work as you supervise, like I did. But not a bad price, I spent $100 for the machine shop, $52 for the Samsons and $10 at Midas. Thats $162 for some really nice looking and sounding pipes. They also perform very nicely, so far.
