Carb Jetting Instructions For CVK Carbs

Step 1) Get all your metric tools together.

You will need some sockets (12mm mostly).
A very good tipped flathead screwdriver.
A good set of allen wrenches.
A set of combination wrenches.
A good pair of needle nosed pliers
A few rags along with a big soft towel
An empty tin can or bowl (to drain carb gas)
I also use a MC/ATV lift for ease of work

Step 2) Remove seat, gas tank, side cover and battery.

The first thing I did was to secure the bike on my stand and put it in an area where I can walk around the bike and have room on both sides to work freely.

I then removed the seat with the rear 6mm allen screw.
I placed all my parts on a thick shipping blanket on the ground so as not to damage them.
Next the plastic side cover, the fake air cleaners and the battery were removed.
The gas tank removel involved removing the gas hose from the petcock (put a rag under the hose, it will drip some gas). Then removing the (3) 6mm allens holding the plastic warning light panel. You have to unplug the electrical connection underneath the warning light panel by carefully pulling the connector apart while you push on the plastic lock tab on the connector.
You then remove the 12mm bolt on the rear of the tank which secures it to the frame.
You then lift the rear of the tank, pull gently backwards and reach underneath the front of the tank and pull off the small rubber breather hose from the underside/front/right side. Be sure to notice where this feeds so you can reinstall it without pinching this hose off. Set the tank carefully somewhere it is safe and away from any heat source.
On to the next step.
