Final checks and installs.

While you're refreshing your thirst you can get your air cleaners ready to go back on. Back to the sink for the good ole scrub-a-dub in the hot soapy water and Dawn dish washing soap. (I wonder if they pay royalties?)

I just dunked them up and down several times and let them soak in the pails of very hot soapy water for about 15 minutes and the crud all came out nicely. They ended up looking almost like new. Notice the water turned red from the red K&N filter oil.
I then rinsed them both out with lots of clean hot water and dried them by sticking my daughter's hair drier inside the ends. I don't have a blow drier since most of my hair is long gone. Sigh, but that's another story...

Ok, beer break's over, back to work. I removed the tie down holding all the wiring and positioned the wiring as close to the frame as I could. I will tie it securely just before I put the gas tank back on. I want to make sure it all fits first anyway.
I re-installed the intake billets then I took the carb intake manifolds and applied a very small bead of the red RTV around the side for the motor to help with leaks. Well, actually to prevent them from leaking, not to help them leak. I put these on quickly and tightened the clamps before it cures so they would seal nicely. This stuff is pretty easy to get off later so don't sweat it.

Ok, put the throttle cables back onto the carbs and put them back on. Check throttle cables for smooth operation and that they do not bind when you turn the bars from one side to the other. Position them up near the frame and use a tie wrap to hold them in place, again check their play. Plug in the throttle position sensor, connect the carb breather drain hose, plug in the carb heaters (oooh oooh oooh almost there, are we getting giddy yet?) Reconnect the crankcase breather hose,

put on the air filters, double and triple check for anything that is not on yet. Be sure you have put the coils back on, the plugs are in, the plug wires are connected? Carb vacuum caps all in place?

The final steps...
